Hybrid Stratocaster / Telecaster

Warmoth body, Fender licensed hybrid Stratocaster / Telecaster

Goal

Goals often change, but at this time, the goal is to darken the grain using the Solacure SG-1-40 lamps, then lightly sand down the light areas between the grain, use a water based pickling stain, and create a white blonde guitar with more grain showing than the typical Fender, a white wash look that is natural. We are sticking with very traditional pickups and controls for an authentic Telecaster sound and look, but in a Stratocaster body.

Gear

For aging the wood, we will use Rig #1, as usual, with 8 SG-1-40 lamps at 80w each. As for the guitar itself, we will be installing a black, single ply .09" black pickguard, Fender "Original" Telecaster American made pickups (the same pickups used in their 1952 Reissue guitars), a modern bridge with individual saddles (Fender brand, made in Mexico) and basic controls using Fender and CTS parts. The neck will be a Fender made in Mexico Telecaster neck with Fender standard tuners. This was a "pull" off a new guitar, purchased from Stratosphere on Ebay, one of the necks we used in the last test. Finish will be nitrocellulose that is final cured using the UV lamps for an extra hard finish.

Solacure Means Quality

Solacure ultraviolet lamps aren't just good, we guarantee they are the best or we will give you your money back. Our patented glass is more transparent to UVA and UVB. Our custom cathode/anode sets lets you run 2 to 3 times more power than a standard lamp in the same size. All of our lamps have built in reflectors. We have a lamp for every need.

We stand behind everything we sell and guarantee each will perform exactly to specification, or we will replace them. We don't want your business this week, we want it every week, and we are willing to earn it. There really is a difference in quality when it comes to ultraviolet bulbs, and Solacure tops the list. Order online, over the phone, or call us if you need a custom UV lamp made, with fairly low minimums (around 2000 pieces). We can make it happen.

Buy with confidence: We like what we do, and we've been doing it for over 30 years.
We accept all major credit cards for our uv curing lamps
