Flower Power Explained
At Solacure, we only produce UV products and trace our roots to 1985. We were the first to design and sell UVB lamps specifically for cannabis, and have been working with growers for over a dozen years. UV isn't just one of our products, it is our only product. No one knows UV and cannabis better.

Our Flower Power is a 4th generation supplemental lighting system that does more than boost THC. Our lamps are used by the US Dept. of Agriculture, US Dept. of Energy, Texas A&M, University of Florida, Purdue and others. Simply put, they are the strongest and most advanced UVB/UVA lamps on the market, by a large margin. Here's why they outperform others and why they are the most cost effective solution for UV.

Patented design
We don't use standard glass in our lamps, unlike most UV lamps. Many of our lamps use Open Glass, a specially designed glass that is more transparent to UV and has been around a while. Our Flower Power and SG series lamps use Sol Glass, a special patented glass that is over 35% more transparent to UVB than even Open Glass, and can transmit UVB all the way down to 280nm. These higher energy wavelengths get more work done with less energy consumption. Only Solacure has it.

Built in reflector
Regular lamps emit light in all directions equally, which means most of the light shines AWAY from the plants. Using a shiny metal reflector behind the lamp can catch some of the light but in reality, the majority of the light simply is gone forever, wasted. We pour a reflective material down the length of our lamps, so light can only shine out the front of the lamp. Unlike an external reflector, which is at best 15-25% efficient, our internal system is over 80% efficient, reflecting the UV back towards the plant before it can even leave the bulb. This means you don't have to concern yourself with reflectors, and the mount of total light emitted is 50% higher than the same lamp without the reflector. More power with less wattage.

Larger surface area
We get asked regularly why we don't make a T5 lamp, and only make T8s and T12. Our flagship lamp, the Flower Power is a T12, for instance. We can (and have) made lamps all the way down to T2 sized, 1/4" diameter and can make them even larger than a T12. What we have learned over the last 35 years is that the T12 is the best for UV. T5s are great for visible light, such as general grow lights, but UV is a much higher energy wavelength. T5 UV lamps will simply not last as long, they will run hotter, require more power, and can't produce the smooth, even spectrum that a T12 can. UV isn't made in the middle of the lamp, it is made on the inside surface, and the much larger surface area of the T12 means more phosphor, more UV, longer life, plus it possible to custom tailor the spectrum. In a nutshell, we could make T5 and would if they were better for UV, and they are cheaper to make, but they are subpar for making high quality ultraviolet.

ISO standard size
Our Flower Power (and most other lamps) are ISO standard size bulbs. This means you are not locked into buying fixtures and such from us. You are free to use any F32 (or F40) fixture, and any F32 ballast you want. These are readily available from thousands of places. We do sell some standard and high performance fixtures, but we don't lock you in.

UVR8 triggering
The Flower Power is the only UVB lamp proven to trigger the UVR8 protein in plants. Texas A&M, the US Dept. of Agriculture and others have tested, and use, our lamps because that is what they need to conduct real research into UVR8. In short, UVR8 is a protein found in most plants, and when is senses UVB around ~285nm, it sends chemical signals in the plants. Purdue found that it increases flavanoids in tomatoes. Texas A&M found it makes sorghum mature faster. All using our lamps. In the case of cannabis, it triggers the plant to make more THC. Any UVB will help do this, but when you trigger this special protein, you break into new heights. Gains of 15-25% are typical. This is because THC absorbs UV, and the only reason the plant produces it, is to use it as sunblock for its nurseries, the buds. It serves no other purpose for the plant.

Extreme power
Flower Power has efficiencies up to 5x standard UVB lamps. We can produce more ultraviolet with 20 watts than other are with 54 watts. More importantly, we are producing it in the right places, so every photon is doing something worthwhile. At just 20w, you can only run them for 2 hours or so a day. And yes, you need eye protection, but good quality sunglasses will do. More UV in 2 hours than others give you in 12. This actually makes them safer to use, as you can schedule them to run when no one is around.

Unmatched durability
T12 lamps are inherently stronger due to the larger arc of the glass, but we don't stop there. Standard F40 cathode/anodes (the end parts with the two pins) are rated for only 40 watts. Our are rated for over 120 watts. This is a common point of failure for lamps, so we spent the extra money to use high grade lamp end, custom made for high frequency electronic ballasts. 20w is all you will need, but some greenhouses and high bay setups want to run much higher power. Ours are tested at 200w (without failure), and we certify and guarantee them at 100 watts. Whatever your application, Flower Power can be powered up to any sane power level.

Proven in the field by thousands of growers
Not only is the Flower Power the best selling UVB lamp for cannabis in the US, Canada and Europe, it is the most tested. We have several testers that have used them in controlled environments using clones, and every time the results were dramatic.

Insects, mold and mildew
Flower Power is proven to be an exceptional prophylactic for these problems. They interfere with the lifecycle of soft insects, killing most of them that get in the light. A mild to moderate outbreak of powdery mildew is easy to fix. Better yet, start using Flower Power one month before flowering, and you will probably never have these problems at all. It isn't a total solution, and not a substitute for good sanitation, but it is one of the most power tools you can have to combat these pests.

Skeptics love them
Skepticism is healthy thing, and we understand that for many of you, the idea of simply adding a UVB lamp for a couple hours a day to get dramatic results sounds too good to be true. Once you've tried them, however, we guarantee you will love them and we put that guarantee in writing. In a industry full of hyperbole and false promises, we put our money where our mouth is. We don't just sell our products, we design, build and back every one, direct to the customer, so there is no middle man runaround.

Money Back Guarantee
Solacure is the only company to offer a 30 day money back guarantee on their UVB lamps. If you don't like the bulbs after using them a month, send them back for a refund. You just pay shipping. It's that simple. We are fully confident that once you use them, you will be blown away by the results and will continue to use them for years to come.

Solacure Means Quality

Solacure ultraviolet lamps aren't just good, we guarantee they are the best or we will give you your money back. Our patented glass is more transparent to UVA and UVB. Our custom cathode/anode sets lets you run 2 to 3 times more power than a standard lamp in the same size. All of our lamps have built in reflectors. We have a lamp for every need.

We stand behind everything we sell and guarantee each will perform exactly to specification, or we will replace them. We don't want your business this week, we want it every week, and we are willing to earn it. There really is a difference in quality when it comes to ultraviolet bulbs, and Solacure tops the list. Order online, over the phone, or call us if you need a custom UV lamp made, with fairly low minimums (around 2000 pieces). We can make it happen.
